HVAC UV Light Installation

A cold, wet evaporator coil sitting in humid Florida air is close to an ideal environment for biological growth, and once a coil and drain pan are colonised, that growth sits directly in the path of every cubic foot of air entering the house. It also insulates the coil, restricts airflow and blocks the drain. Coil-mounted UV addresses exactly this: continuous exposure at the surface where the problem forms.

We are specific about what UV does and does not do, because the category is oversold. Mounted at the coil, running continuously, it is effective at keeping that surface and the drain pan clear. It is not a whole-house air steriliser, it does not replace filtration, and it does nothing about humidity. Installation matters — correct placement relative to the coil, correct lamp output for the cabinet, safe electrical connection, and a note of the lamp replacement interval, since output degrades long before the lamp visibly fails.
