Heating System Installation
Heating System Installation
Heat pumps, electric heat and furnaces — sized for Florida's real heating load, not a northern one.

Heating in Florida is a design problem with a different answer than it has almost anywhere else in the country. The load is small but not zero, it is concentrated into a handful of nights, and for most of the state a heat pump handles it more economically than dedicated heating equipment because the same machine already exists for cooling. Where supplemental heat is needed, sizing it correctly matters — oversized electric strips are an expensive way to heat a house that needed a fraction of that capacity.
We specify heating from the building's actual heating load and from how the property is used. A Polk County home that sees genuine winter nights is a different calculation from a Sunny Isles condo that needs heat three times a year. Installation includes correct electrical sizing and protection, proper airflow across the elements or heat exchanger, safety limit verification and full commissioning under an actual call for heat.
When to install rather than repair
- Failed heat strips on an air handler at end of life
- A heat pump whose compressor or reversing valve has failed
- An ageing furnace with a cracked or suspect heat exchanger
- Adding conditioned space with no heating provision
- Upgrading to a heat pump to cut winter electricity cost
What's included
- Heating load calculation for the actual building
- Equipment specification with the trade-offs explained
- Firm written quote before work begins
- Correct electrical sizing, breaker and disconnect protection
- Safety limit and cutout verification
- Commissioning under a real call for heat, with readings documented

Heat pump or electric strips?
For most Florida properties a heat pump is the cheaper machine to run, with strips as backup. Which mix is right depends on your load and your electrical service, and we will show you the calculation.
