AC Installation

Air Conditioner Installation

Correctly sized, correctly commissioned, and quoted with a heat-load calculation instead of a guess at tonnage.

A newly installed air handler with sealed plenum connections

Most air conditioning systems that disappoint their owners were not badly made — they were badly sized or badly installed. An oversized unit cools the air fast, satisfies the thermostat, and shuts off before it has pulled any real moisture out of the house, which is why an oversized system in Florida produces a room that is cold and clammy at the same time. An undersized one never stops running. Getting that number right is a calculation, not an opinion, so we run a heat-load calculation on the actual building rather than replacing four tons with four tons because that is what was there.

The install itself decides the rest. Line sets brazed under nitrogen, the system pulled into a deep vacuum before charging, refrigerant weighed in rather than guessed at by pressure, ducts and plenum sealed, condensate routed with a proper trap and a safety switch, and the whole thing commissioned with measured superheat, subcooling and temperature split before we call it done. We install Rheem, Goodman, Trane, Grandaire and Ruud equipment.

Signs it's time to replace rather than repair

  • The system is 12–15+ years old and has needed repeated repairs
  • A failed compressor on an older unit
  • The system uses R-22 refrigerant, which is no longer produced
  • Energy bills climbing year over year with no change in habits
  • The house is cold but never actually feels dry
  • Rooms that have never balanced no matter what the thermostat is set to

What a proper installation includes

  • Heat-load calculation and efficiency evaluation before any equipment is specified
  • A firm written quote — our first quote is our last quote
  • Removal and responsible disposal of the old equipment
  • Nitrogen-purged brazing, deep vacuum and weighed-in refrigerant charge
  • Condensate trap, safety float switch and correctly sealed plenum connections
  • Full commissioning with measured superheat, subcooling and temperature split
  • A walkthrough of the new controls before we leave

AC Installation — common questions

Which brands do you install?

Rheem, Goodman, Trane, Grandaire and Ruud. Which one is right depends on the building, the budget and what is already in place — we will explain the trade-off rather than push one line.

Do you charge for the quote?

No. Quotes are free and available same-day, and they include the heat-load calculation rather than a tonnage guess.

How long does an installation take?

A straightforward changeout is typically a single day. Jobs involving duct modification, a new line set or a system relocation take longer, and we will tell you which yours is when we quote it.
